In January of 2006, Damon Ivey and Stella Barret Gildrie committed suicide just three
days apart. They left behind a father and a husband, and from these two dear friends,
the Damon and Stella Foundation for Mental Health was created.
As a non-profit 501(c)3, the Damon and Stella Foundation is an alliance of artists and
health care professionals dedicated to two objectives:
Awareness Campaign: removing the stigma associated with mental disease through
an aggressive PSA campaign;
The Care Fund: to financially assist those who cannot otherwise afford treatment.
With over 32,000 completed suicides each year, the need is great and urgent. Please
click on the PSA link below to see our latest Public Service Announcement, feel free to
visit our Quilt to hear other stories of success, and our Donation tab makes joining the
cause as easy as it gets. It takes only a few easy steps to make a difference.
